Opening Up the Design at Threadless

The open concept offices at Threadless.

From chaotic and closed-off to creative and collaborative, Rightsize helped redesign the work space of online t-shirt retailer Threadless to express their company brand with funky new furniture.

The new open concept allows everyone to be on one level, in one main area which creates more opportunities for collaboration and increased work flow. The executives moved away from a private office setting and sit out with their teams, so there is also more equality between employees.

“The new office is much more open and allows a lot of natural sunlight in. The desks are oriented in rows of sit-stand desks instead of being shoved wherever they would fit, so everyone can interact more,” Shannon Vukovljak said about how they contributed to the new layout.

The space was designed to be fun and to encourage the employees to get their creative juices flowing. There is a large break area, a game area with a ping pong table, and several collaboration areas featuring modern and comfortable lounge furniture. Threadless hired a local graffiti artist to decorate their walls. Our designers played off this fun vibe with our furniture by painting the mobile pedestals in several different colors. We also provided them with sit-stand desks and re-upholstered their Eames conference chairs in a fabric that Threadless custom designed.
