2018 is a year of exciting growth and expansion for a leading cybersecurity startup. Known as a “unicorn” in the venture capital world, the company is valued at over $1 billion, and has tripled its global staff over the last two years.
While most of the company’s staff works from the main office in Ann Arbor, Michigan, it has just begun the first phase of a long-term plan to expand into downtown Detroit. The company moved 30 employees from Ann Arbor to a new space in Bamboo Detroit, a collaborative coworking community that houses 200 diverse businesses in the Julian C. Madison Building. In addition to flexible office space, Bamboo offers classes, events, and coaching services for members.
As the official furniture partner for Bamboo, Rightsize Facility equipped the workspaces with flexible, modular furnishings ideal for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Rightsize also has a showroom in the building.
Rightsize reconfigured part of Bamboo’s shared coworking space to create a private, enclosed section for the security startup’s team. It includes an open-plan office, a conference area and multiple meeting spaces. Using a BLENDED SOLUTION, Rightsize outfitted the space with remanufactured Herman Miller AO2 and Ethospace workstations, and Humanscale seating, including features such as height-adjustable desks and sound-absorbing acoustic elements.
“We selected furniture that is modern, versatile, and functional,” said Nick Weise, VP, Michigan Team Leader at Rightsize. “The client can easily adapt it and add to it as the company grows, and these flexible pieces will continue to meet their needs.”
The startup’s CEO has expressed his excitement about joining the dynamic and innovative business community in Detroit. By the end of the year, the company plans to move to another floor within Bamboo, offering a 9,000 square-foot space to accommodate additional employees.
