When a Wisconsin financial institution decided to remodel its corporate headquarters, Rightsize was the perfect fit to handle space planning, furniture specification and procurement, and delivery and installation. The client also requested that Rightsize decommission old furnishings, which included asset disposition and warehousing.

The project involved coordinating with an architect and contractor to remodel the first and second floors on one side of the very large building, and the second floor on the other side; the two sides are connected by a glass walkway on the second floor.

“The bank had not been remodeled since the late 1970s or early 1980s, so it needed a fresh, new look,” said a member of the Rightsize workplace solutions management team. “The transformation was significant and very well received by their employees and leadership team.”

Rightsize maintained the dark, rich navy, gray and beige colors and a familiar hunt club style. But the bank was given the modernization it needed by replacing dark wood paneled offices with open, glass storefront offices, creating an open, airy space while still affording privacy.

In the loan offices area, functional workstations were paired with Global task chairs, First Office STAKS filing and desks, and ESI ergonomic double monitor arms. The First Office Intermix conference table is wired to accommodate technology, such as Ethernet connections and computers. The table also provides ample room for Global Loover conference chairs.

In the reception area, Studio Q loveseats, lounge chairs and a round table strike a balance between traditional and contemporary, giving the bank a modern yet retro feel, akin to the “Mad Men” television show. The new breakroom features six different tables – two at bar height – and plenty of comfortable chairs and stools. The loan processing area called for a BLENDED SOLUTION of refurbished Herman Miller Ethospace workstations and new filing. Rightsize created new metal paneled pieces for paper management.

Additionally, the VIP+ Program combined Performance furnishings on one side of the building and Value furnishings on the other. The Rightsize team recommended a BLENDED SOLUTION in the loan processing area to meld seamlessly with the new furnishings in the other building and to stay within the approved budget.

“You would never know the workstations had the bones of used workstations; everything was meticulously refurbished using paint and new fabric,” the Rightsize workplace solutions management team noted. “The original quote for all new furniture was more than double what they wound up spending for refurbished furniture. Our BLENDED SOLUTION provided significant savings.”

Throughout the building, filing and storage were of vital importance. For the IT area, Rightsize created a workstation in a back corner, with high walls and special racking to handle the necessary computer equipment. A 280-degree work surface with ample shelving more than meets storage needs.

Rightsize performed a filing analysis on the linear square footage to determine if the layout could accommodate significant amounts of paperwork. Filing is critically important in the banking industry, and the staff was concerned that there would not be sufficient space to accommodate the volume. Rightsize outfitted the bank with more than they thought possible, and they were thrilled.

Also, Rightsize managed the delivery and installation of all the furnishings and worked within banking-specific parameters, including delivering within specified hours and meeting required security clearance.

The client and their customers continue to rave about the bank’s new look and how the style incorporates the past, while providing plenty of style that will hold up well into the future.
